War for the Planet of the Apes — Matt Reeves, 2017 A continuation and expansion of the world established in Dawn, production designer James Chinlund followed the apes as they built a hidden fortress, then embarked on a vast journey through the Pacific coastline, snowy mountains and the high desert on their way to the final battle. A massive worldbuilding exercise across some of the most challenging terrain of the trilogy. Art Directors Guild nomination, 2018.
